Research by Channel Mum shows that people who were bullied at school continue to feel the effects of bullying once they have grown up – 50% suffer from anxiety, 26% depression, 20% panic attacks and 10% have suicidal thoughts – which is why it's so imperative that any bullying in school is dealt with fast and effectively.
With the use of mobiles phones and social media on the rise, 80% of mums believe that bullying is now worse for children, compared to when they were growing up.
Watch Alex Holmes, head of Anti Bullying Pro from the Diana Award, speak about his own experiences of bullying and why it's made him so passionate about ensuring there are anti-bullying ambassadors in schools. Alex also explains how to spot the signs your child is being bullied and how best to deal with the situation.
